Mississippi residents were assessing the damage from Hurricane Nate on October 8 after it made its second landfall around midnight on the Mississippi Gulf Coast near Biloxi. Local media reported that the Category 1 hurricane brought sustained winds of up to 85 mph and storm surges up to seven feet.

Tornado warnings were issued for communities in North and South Carolina on Sunday, October 8, as the remnants of Hurricane Nate pushed north after hitting the Gulf Coast over the weekend, local media reported. This footage was captured by a Caldwell County Sheriff dashcam in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Nate made landfall in Mississippi early on Sunday as a Category 1 hurricane and later weakened to a tropical storm. Thousands were without power in southern Mississippi., and, as seen in this video, the Golden Nugget casino's parking garage was one of the areas flooded.
