ST. PETERSBURG -- After a bit of sunshine Sunday, the coming week could bring a lot of rain.
The rain chance goes up to 70 percent Monday and 80 percent Tuesday before settling in at 50 percent for the rest of the work week, according to the Bay News 9 weather team.
The culprit, says meteorologist Josh Linker, is a frontal boundary that's still sitting over the middle of Florida.
"This front is going to remain in place," Linker said. "Another cold front is going to come in from the northwest, and we're going to have a lot of moisture streaming in from the west and a dip in the jet stream. All that together, along with another disturbance developing across that front, will lead to higher rain chances (Monday) and on Tuesday."
The projected highs for Tuesday and Wednesday are 85 and 83 degrees, respectively.
