ST. PETERSBURG -- The daily Bay area showers and storms will arrive earlier in the day Friday.
According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, some scattered showers and thunderstorms developing in the Gulf of Mexico this morning are already moving into parts of the Tampa Bay area.
"The showers will get an early start with heavy rains possible around mid-day," Marquez said. "The southwest winds will push those storms inland by the afternoon."
Skies will be partly sunny for parts of the day and temperatures will be hot, rising to the low 90s.
Rain chances will dip to about 30 percent Saturday and Sunday.
