MANATEE -- All is quiet so far entering week four of the Hurricane Season, according to Bay News 9 meteorologist Josh Linker.
There is no notable activity in the tropics, Linker said.
Rain chances remain low today in Manatee County.
Linker said an onshore wind generated by high pressure to the south will prevent all but isolated showers and storms from developing near the coast. East of Interstate 75, though, showers and storms could crop up during the afternoon.
Never miss a local story.
The pattern will remain in effect through the early part of the work week.
"It won't be until this high gets north of us that we'll get that east-southeast wind flow to come in and get us back into a more typical summertime pattern," Linker said. "But that may not occur until the end of the week."
The Bay News 9 weather team puts the chances of rain at 30 percent Monday and Tuesday and 40 percent Wednesday.
Highs will be near 90 degrees all week.
