PALMETTO — The Kiwanis Club of Manatee Sunrise Kiwanis kicks off a partnership with Kids Against Hunger with a gala 6 p.m. Saturday at the Olympia Theater, 512 10th St., Palmetto.
Kids Against Hunger is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide fully nutritious food to impoverished children around the world.
At the event, there will be casino gaming tables, entertainment, cash bar, door prizes, a silent auction and more.

St. Joseph Food Pantry seeks donations
BRADENTON — The St. Joseph Food Pantry seeks food donations as it plans to prepare bags of food for an anticipated 7,200 familes this holiday season.
Parishioners and St. Joseph students have been challenged to donate 8,320 cans of vegetables.
Parish friends, businesses, clubs, organizations and schools are asked to help with food.
Donations may be dropped off 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday at St. Joseph Food Pantry, 3100 26th St. W., Bradenton, or the parish office Monday afternoon.
