In response to the idea of an endorsement for Julie Aranibar by the Bradenton Herald does not serve the best interest of the taxpayers of Manatee County.
There is a major disconnect between Ms. Aranibar and the rest of this school district. She doesn't seem to understand that to be a true elected leader you have to have been in the trenches with those who work hard to better this school district.
It is called public service for a reason and that is to serve the public. Her lack of communication with the rest of the community is why this disconnect hasn't been corrected and will not as long as she continues to represent this district.
If elected, this is my priority, and I will be meeting on a regular basis with our administrators and teachers to properly gauge what it is we need to do to better this school district. This is called leadership.
I encourage all of Manatee County to do their own research and properly chose the right candidate to lead this district on Aug. 26. Your children and grandchildren deserve to have the best education possible and our teachers deserve a better place to work. Unity equals community.
Vote Carlton "Les" Nichols for School Board of Manatee County.
