SARASOTA -- GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be in Sarasota Thursday, appearing at what organizers are calling a “grassroots rally” at the Ringling Museum, 5401 Bay Shore Road.
Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. The event is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m.
The event is free but tickets are required. Tickets can be obtained at http://www.mittromney.com/states/florida.
The event will be preceded by a $2,500-a-person fundraiser at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Sarasota.
All attendees at the Ringling event will go through airport-like security and should bring as few personal items as possible. No bags, sharp objects, umbrellas, liquids or signs will be allowed in the venue. Cameras are permitted.
The rally is sponsored by area Republican clubs, including the Manatee Republican Women’s Forum Federated, the East Manatee, Lakewood Ranch and Longboat Key Republican clubs, the Manatee County Young Republicans and the Manatee Tea Party.
