n Cortez Road at 51st, 30th, and 26th streets west: Daytime and nighttime intermittent lane closures may occur between 9 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 4-8, and 9 p.m. Nov. 9 through 6:30 a.m. Nov. 12 for an improvement project consisting of the replacement of drainage pipes just east of 51st street and the intersection of 30th Street and Cortez Road, and at the intersection of 26th Street and Cortez Road. Motorists should expect delays and be cautious of uneven pavement. The construction activities will take place at one intersection at a time. The speed limits is reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph in active work zones.
n State Road 64 from Carlton Arms Boulevard to 43rd Street Boulevard: Nighttime lane closures are anticipated 7 p.m.-6 a.m. Nov. 11-13 in the westbound lane between Carlton Arms Boulevard and 43rd Street Boulevard for drainage work and a sidewalk installation.
n Ninth Avenue West between 14th and 26th streets: The road is scheduled to be closed through November for the replacement of the Ninth Avenue West bridge.
n 10th Street West between Manatee and Fourth avenues: The northbound lane will be closed 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 18 for Bradenton Fire Department personnel training at First Union Bank building.
n U.S. 301/Hernando de Soto Bridge Improvement Project: The Florida Department of Transportation is making improvements to the U.S. 301/Hernando de Soto Bridge. Improvements being made as part of this project include minor structural repairs, replacing a portion of the bridge, and installing bridge pile jackets. The main channel for boat access remains open, but boaters should use caution. Most construction will occur at night and work requiring lane closures will occur between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Lane shifts should also be expected throughout the duration of the project.
n State Road 64 from Carlton Arms Boulevard to Interstate 75: The Florida Department of Transportation is widening the roadway from four lanes to six, including drainage improvements and excavation of ponds. The speed limit is reduced from 50 mph to 45 mph. Expected completion, weather permitting, is in the fall of 2013.
n County Road 675/Rutland Road from U.S. 301 to State Road 64: Traffic control sign installations as well as erosion control installations.
n State Road 64 from County Road 675 to Zipperer Road: Intermittent lane closures while crews work in the shoulder.
n Various roads in vicinity of Bayshore, B.D. Gullett, Kinnan, Oneco, Palm View, Palma Sola, Prine, Rowlett and Samoset elementary schools: Possible lane closures, except during school arrival and dismissal times, for sidewalk installation. No work will be done between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. in residential areas.
