A Manatee County woman's award-winning talent for making pies will be featured at 8 p.m. today on the Food Network, according to a Bay News 9 report.
Andrea Spring, owner of Southern Belle Bakery and Cafe at 7441 Manatee Ave. W., has won national awards for her signature key lime pies and other confections. She and three other chefs will talk about their creations on the Food Network.
In 2007, Spring took first place in the Crisco National Pie Championship.
"They had filmed at the American Pie Council, National Pie Festival, and they decided to come back and film again," Spring told Bay News 9.
"They chose four contestants . . . and I was one of them because I had won best-of-show the year before."
