Math night set tonight

MANATEE — Bayshore High School Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society tonight is hosting “Family Math Night” at Bayshore Elementary School. The event runs 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

All Bayshore Elementary students and parents are welcome to attend.

Members of the Bayshore High School Mu Alpha Theta will conduct several math-related games for grade levels K-5. The event includes games, and prizes, according to information from the school.

School’s 35th celebration set

MANATEE — W.D. Sugg Middle School on Thursday will host the school’s 35th Anniversary Celebration.

The evening begins with a dinner in the cafeteria at 6 p.m. Tickets to the dinner had to be purchased in advance, according to information from the school district.

After dinner, a special program in the school’s gymnasium is set to take place. Featured speakers include sixth-grade Language Arts Teacher Bruce Dietch, who has taught at Sugg since the school first opened in 1974. In addition, Mel Jones — a sixth-grade student when Sugg opened — will talk about his memories of the school. Jones is now the district’s coordinator of information applications.

Kinnan chorus anniversary

TALLEVAST — Former members of Kinnan Elementary school’s chorus are invited to help celebrate the school’s 10th anniversary on Thursday .

The event, entitled, “The Best of Kinnan” starts at 7 p.m. and will take place at the school.

Current chorus members will sing with former members in a program held in the school auditorium.

School carnival set

MANATEE — Daughtrey Preparatory School of Arts and Sciences will hold its annual Fall Science Carnival on Thursday .

The event will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. in the school’s Cafe of the Arts.

Families that attend can view grade-level science projects.
