MANATEE — A man was shot while riding his bicycle Tuesday night, according to Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
The man was riding north on Fifth Street East approaching 58th Avenue Drive East when he heard a loud “pop” at 8:15 p.m., according to a news release. He felt a burning sensation on his back and went to a cousin’s home for help. She took him to Manatee Memorial Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to authorities, the casing appeared to be a .22-caliber.

Teen shot in arm Tuesday afternoon
MANATEE — An 18-year-old man was shot in the arm Tuesday afternoon in the 900 block of 61st Terrace East, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Neighbors told deputies they saw a man shooting at group of four men standing at the end of the street. Someone called the sheriff’s office after they heard shots fired.
Friends took the teen to Manatee Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, according to a news release.
No one has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Man robs Sarasota branch of Landmark Bank
SARASOTA — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office is searching for the man who robbed a Landmark Bank branch Monday morning.
About 10 a.m., the sheriff’s office received an alarm call from the bank, 8444 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota.
The suspect was described as standing between 5 feet, 2 inches and 5 feet, 6 inches tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black boots. He wore some sort of fabric covering his face. The suspect was last seen leaving the parking lot on foot.
