Cortez ready for Folk Arts Festival

CORTEZ — The Cortez Village Folk Arts Festival will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 21 at the Florida Maritime Museum at Cortez, 4415 119th St. W.

Spotlighting the crafts and art of Florida’s heritage, the festival will have food, fine gifts and artwork vendors, as well as several organizations to educate the public.

There will be several musical groups for entertainment, and the museum will have guided tours, along with other special programs.

A wooden boat exhibit will be on display and demonstrations presented at F.I.S.H Boat Shop.

Children can participate in the ice cream eating contest.

The festival is free.

Overactive bladder screening scheduled

LAKEWOOD RANCH — Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and Dr. Bino Rucker, urologist, will offer a free overactive bladder screening from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the main lobby of Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, 8330 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

A light breakfast will be provided. Seating is limited. To RSVP, call (800) 454-8215.
