Wakeland festival set for Nov. 14

BRADENTON — Steel drum players, Zumba dancing, Irish dancers, food, games and crafts from around the globe are all part of Wakeland Elementary School’s International Festival scheduled for Nov. 14, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

All proceeds from the event go towards meeting important school needs and for assisting Wakeland’s sister school — San Juan Chiquic School in San Juan Chamelco, Guatemala. For more information, call (941) 741-3358.

BCS having annual fundraiser, auction

BRADENTON — Bradenton Christian School will hold its annual auction and dinner fundraising event on Nov. 7 at 4:30 p.m.

This year’s theme is Bountiful Blessings, according to information from the school. The evening will open with a silent auction and dinner with a live auction showcasing items including trips or the opportunity to be the Bradenton police chief for a day.

The event will be at the campus, 3304 43rd St. W., and will include free child care. Tickets are $6 in advance and $10 at the door. For sponsorship, donations or ticket information call (941) 792-5454, ext. 103.
