BRADENTON — The Manatee County Health Department reissued an advisory Tuesday for swimmers and waders to stay out of Palma Sola south beach waters.
Testing found marine water bacterial indicators outside the Florida Department of Environmental Protection guidelines that may pose an increased risk of infectious disease if a person comes in contact with the water.
The advisory will remain in effect until the water is tested again July 13.
The presence of bacteria is an indication of fecal pollution, according to the health department press release, which can come from storm water runoff, pets and wildlife or human sewage.
