FEB. 21 — Saint Stephen’s Episcopal School’s Athletic Booster Club will be organizing its fifth annual Falcon 5K Run — and a new 1-mile Fun Run to benefit the school’s athletic programs.
The race, sanctioned by the Bradenton Runners Club and the Road Runners Club of America, will begin at the school, at the 3900 block of Manatee Avenue West.
The 5K route will wind through the historic neighborhoods of northwest Bradenton and along the Manatee River.
Awards for males and females will be presented three-deep in 18 different age categories.
Registration opens at 7 a.m. Both runs will start at 8 a.m. Pre-registration fees are $15 per participant and ends Feb. 19.
A day-of-race entry for all ages is $20.

Film fest at Rowlett
FEB. 26 — Rowlett Elementary will hold its fifth annual film festival at 6:30 p.m.
This year, the school will be showcasing 14 films, with submissions from Samoset, Williams and Palma Sola elementary schools.

Lakewood Ranch High fundraiser
FEB. 27-28 — Lakewood Ranch High’s Key Club will host Campout for a Cause, an overnight camping trip at the school, from 5 p.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Members of the public are invited to camp out at the school, where activities such as concerts, glow-in-the-dark volleyball tournaments and others are planned for the event.
Participants are encouraged to bring an item or cash to donate to one of the six charities — Taking Back Lives, SOLVE Maternity Homes, Napier Family Farm and Rescue, Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities, Our Daily Bread and The Warren Foundation — that are represented at the campout.
Families pay $65 for up to six people for a spot and teams pay $100 for up to 10 people. Additional members pay $10 a person.
