BRADENTON -- Manatee deputies arrested a woman Sunday in connection with an armed robbery after she led them on a high-speed chase through the county.
Danielle Terrell, 39, reportedly walked into the Stop n Pick grocery store at 4240 Cortez Road W. at 7:43 a.m. Saturday, according to a release. She showed the clerk a handgun in her waistband and demanded money, grabbing cash from the register and fleeing in a red Toyota Solara with a rear spoiler.
A deputy with the Manatee County Sheriff's Office spotted a Toyota Solara with a rear spoiler on Sunday and tried to conduct a traffic stop for a tag violation, according to a release. The driver fled and led deputies on a high-speed chase before she crashed the vehicle and tried to run away.
Terrell was caught by a canine and identified through surveillance video as the suspect in the armed robbery the day before.
Terrell is charged with robbery with a firearm, assault on a law enforcement officer, fleeing from law enforcement at high speed and driving with a suspended license. She is being held in the Manatee County jail without bond.
Terrell has prior charges for larceny, narcotics possession and shoplifting.
