MANATEE — Two people were injured at noon Wednesday after a van driver crashed into another vehicle, which caused another collision with a city bus, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident on U.S. 41 and Bayshore Gardens Parkway involved 29-year-old Mitchel Grek of Sarasota driving a Ford E-250 in the center lane behind two other vehicles.
When Grek failed to stop for a red light, the Ford struck the rear of a Chevrolet S-10 and shoved it into the city bus.
Grek was transported to Blake Medical Center with serious, troopers reported.

The driver of the Chevrolet S-10 suffered minor injuries and was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital. The city bus driver was not hurt, according to a report.
Grek was charged with careless driving. Alcohol was not listed as a factor in the FHP report
