MANATEE -- A 34-year-old man driving on U.S. 41 suffered minor injuries when he had a medical episode, lost control of his truck, struck another vehicle and then crashed into a construction site before overturning and landing upright, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at 11:15 a.m. at the intersection with Pearl Avenue, according to FHP.
The man was driving north on U.S 41 when the crash occurred. His truck hit a curb and a light pole before crashing near where a RaceTrac gas station is under construction.
He was taken to Blake Medical Center with what were described as minor injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
After the crash, two lanes of northbound U.S. 41 were blocked as officials investigated.
