MANATEE -- Deputies are investigating a shooting that left a 16-year-old with an injured right shoulder, according to the Manatee COunty Sheriff's Office.
Deputies received a call at 2:12 p.m. Thursday in response to the shooting near the intersection of 12th Street East and 61st Avenue East in Bradenton. According to a report, the juvenile victim was taken to the hospital by his mother. Deputies said he suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his right shoulder. The sheriff's office said the injury is not life-threatening.
According to a release, the victim said he was around Pride Park with the suspect.
"The victim then told the suspect that he would shoot him but the suspect shot him instead," a release states.
