BRADENTON — A disabled woman was robbed during an armed home invasion about 3:55 p.m. Aug. 7, according to the Bradenton Police Department. Police believe the robbery was intended to take the woman's medication.
Ronald Whitford, 40, Fort Myers, was arrested four days later at 12:36 p.m. Tuesday, according to the report. He is accused of entering an apartment in the 1500 block of 14th Street West, grabbing a 4-year-old child around the waist and tossing the child onto the lap of the victim while asking: “Where is it?”
After patting down the victim, the suspect is accused of taking her purse. The suspect ran from the apartment and was chased by two men but he pulled the knife out and waved them off.
The suspect, related to a neighbor according to the report, was identified by the victim. The suspect is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m. Sept. 11.
