TAMPA -- Lowry Park Zoo's newest baby arrivals are stinkin' cute - literally.
The zoo recently welcomed a litter of seven baby striped skunks, which are also known as kits. The kits were born May 2 to Mia, who zoo staff now calls "Momma Mia."
The kits - five boys and two girls - have just opened their eyes and will soon emerge from the den. The skunk family was relocated to a temporary enclosure along the Florida boardwalk until the kits are mobile
The kits were born hairless, weighing between 40-50 grams each, which is about the weight of a slice of bread. The kits have grown hair and gained weight, and now they weigh between 180-208 grams.
