CHARLOTTE -- A 20-year-old Palm Harbor man was killed and his 19-year-old female passenger from Clearwater seriously injured at noon Saturday in a three-vehicle swamp buggy accident at the Redneck Yacht Club, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
A swamp buggy driven by a 37-year-old North Fort Myers man was towing another swamp buggy steered by a 17-year-old North Fort Meyers man on a dirt road in the Redneck Yacht Club when a 2008 Suzuki Quadsport driven by Nicholas Kirk drove between the vehicles, according to FHP.
Nicholas Kirk struck the tow strap and his passenger fell from vehicle as it passed under the strap. The vehicle rolled to an uncontrolled stop about 300 feet west of the area of collision.
Charlotte County Emergency Medical Services pronounced Kirk dead at the scene and transported his passenger to Lee Memorial Hospital with "incapacitating injuries."

There was no damage to the other vehicles or injuries to the occupants, according to FHP.
Alcohol results are pending for Kirk, according to FHP.
