SARASOTA -- The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office arrested a sixth person in connection with the December home invasion robbery during which Jonathan Jeffery was killed.
Detectives identified Nicholas Comegys, 27, 1818 Fern Ave., Sarasota, as the person who provided information to the suspects charged with committing the home invasion homicide. This was confirmed through interviews, cell phone records and text messages obtained by detectives. Other people involved in the crime referred to Comegys as the "tattoo guy," a nickname he confirmed once in custody.
Comegys is charged with being a principal to home invasion robbery with a firearm and is being held at the Sarasota County jail without bond.
Shakoy Gale, Vincent Gonzalez and Christian Theodore were previously charged with armed home invasion robbery and second-degree murder in this case. Two others are charged as accessories to the crime. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
