SARASOTA -- The evacuation at the Sarasota Police Department was lifted Monday after officers investigated a suspicious package.
The Sarasota Police Department building and the building at the southwest corner of East Avenue and Ringling Boulevard were evacuated Monday morning due to a suspicious package being found, according to Genevieve Judge, spokeswoman for the Sarasota Police Department.
The Explosive Materials Unit responded with a bomb removal robot and found the package contained a laptop, computer monitor and tower, Judge said.
Police are still trying to determine who left the package.
All road closures have been lifted as of 11:50 a.m.
