MANATEE — A Bradenton woman has been charged with beating a 16-year-old in the street, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.
Megan Northcutt, 18, was arrested at 7:39 p.m. Tuesday in the 6000 block of 42nd Avenue West, according to the report.
The victim’s mother called the sheriff’s office to report her daughter was getting beat up. Deputies said the victim was walking past Northcutt’s house when Northcutt began yelling at and ran toward her saying she was going to beat her for trying to have sex with her man.
Deputies said Northcutt punched the victim up to 30 times and kneed her in the face three times. The victim reportedly suffered small scratches and swollen bruises on her neck but did not need medical assistance.
Northcutt, charged with abusing a child without great harm, was held in Manatee County jail on $1,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s website.
