BRADENTON -- The Bradenton Police Department reported a shooting that occurred early Monday in Bradenton, though the victim could only give limited information on a suspect.
Police received several 911 calls at 2:12 a.m. that six rapid gunshots were heard in the 2100 block of 10th Street West, according to a release. Police located six shell casings in that area.
An off-duty officer reported soon after that a 21-year old shooting victim had arrived at Manatee Memorial Hospital, police said. The victim had a gunshot wound in his lower leg and the injury was not life threatening.
Police said it was a drive-by shooting, with the victim talking to a friend in front of a residence when a small four-door vehicle came by, and the vehicle's passenger shot at the victim.
The victim did not get a good look at the suspect and police have not reported a motive. The investigation is ongoing.
