A Bradenton man died when the sports utility vehicle he was driving Monday overturned and rolled on Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Cirilo Rubio, 63, was taken to Blake Medical Center by Bayflight after the crash at 6:20 p.m., the FHP report said. He did not survive his injuries, according to the report.
The report said Rubio was driving northbound when he swerved to avoid slower-moving traffic and over-corrected the 2002 Isuzu Rodeo he was driving. Alcohol was not involved and Rubio was wearing a seat belt, according to the report.
The northbound lanes of I-75 were closed for about two hours during the crash investigation and clean-up, the FHP report said.
