SARASOTA -- A Bradenton woman was charged with driving under the influence with a blood alcohol level of .15 or higher after causing a head-on crash early Saturday morning, according to the Sarasota Police Department.
Precious Wilson, 21, was driving her vehicle northbound in the southbound lanes on North Tamiami Trail at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. She attempted to drive over the median to switch into the correct lanes.
Wilson over-corrected the vehicle and hit a southbound vehicle head on in the 5100 block of Tamiami Trail, according to a release. Police said she was slurring her speech and her breath smelled of alcohol, and they found her blood alcohol level was .18.
Wilson was transported to the Sarasota County jail. There were no major injuries as a result of the crash.
