BRADENTON -- Manatee High School postponed its homecoming festivities Friday as a result of the weather forecast, according to a post on its Facebook page.
Homecoming will be postponed until the Oct. 10 football game against Palmetto High school, the post said.
Friday night's game against Sarasota High School is still scheduled to proceed. Fans attending the game are encouraged to bring ponchos.
According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, rain chances Friday are 70 percent.
"Conditions are mostly cloudy today with increasing showers," Marquez said. "Clouds over the gulf are moving into our region, bringing the rain and storms to our area."
High temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s.
The rain chances will continue through the evening.
Rain chances will go down during the weekend.
