From the Bradenton Herald's Meghin Delaney:
The Manatee County School District early Thursday evening will remove a large bee hive from a tree near King Middle School in Northwest Bradenton, said district spokesman Steve Valley.
The tree is on a homeowner's property, but the branch holding the hive dips onto the campus, Valley said.
As a precaution, the district will remove the hive between 5 and 5:30 p.m., when students and staff are not expected to be at the school, he said.
Never miss a local story.
Valley said there were no reports of students being stung or of any other issues with the bees.
The hive was suppose to be removed on Wednesday, but the rain prevented it, he said.
