SARASOTA -- The Sarasota Police Department is looking to identify a man seen breaking into two vehicles early on Aug. 25 in Sarasota.
The man was caught on surveillance camera burglarizing two vehicles in the 3200 block of Old Oak Drive at 4 a.m. on Aug. 25, according to a release.
The suspect is seen on video opening an unlocked car door, looking through front compartments and exiting, police said. Then he approaches a second unlocked vehicle, opens the door, takes a pair of sunglasses and exits.
The suspect is described as a male, last seen wearing a tank top, shorts and sneakers with short hair and two tattoos on each bicep.
The Sarasota Police Department said drivers should always lock their vehicles, even if they're away for only a few moments. More than half of vehicle burglaries that occur in the City of Sarasota happen to vehicles that are left unlocked, police said.
