MANATEE -- One person remains in critical condition just before 8 p.m. Tuesday following an afternoon crash on Interstate 275, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash, which was reported at 4:09 p.m., happened on the southbound lanes at mile marker 228, which is near the interchange with Interstate 275, according to the FHP website.
A 37-year-old woman was driving a 2003 sliver Ford pickup on I-75 south getting off at exit 228 for I-275 when the truck went up onto the shoulder up against the bridge, according to Florida State Trooper Kenn Watson.
The vehicle had been swerving prior to crash, according to witnesses. The driver was slumped over at the wheel, Watson added.
Paramedics worked to revive the woman at the scene and she was taken with a faint pulse to Manatee Memorial Hospital.
As of 5:20 p.m., the roadway was clear, according to FHP.
