MANATEE -- A woman told deputies a man impersonating a police officer pulled her over and told her to get into his vehicle Sunday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The Bradenton woman was driving in the 500 block of 53rd Avenue West when what she believed was a law enforcement vehicle with a red and green flashing light pulled her over at 10:45 p.m. Sunday, according to a release.
The suspect approached her vehicle and was not wearing an identifiable uniform, deputies said. Instead of asking for her driver's license or other relevant documents, the suspect told the woman to exit her vehicle and get into his car.
The woman refused, and the suspect told her he was going back to his vehicle to call a female officer, the release said. But once he got back into his car he immediately fled the scene at a high speed, and the woman called 911.

The victim described the suspect as a tall, clean-shaven white male wearing a black t-shirt and possibly a badge, driving a gold or tan Ford Crown Victoria.
