MANATEE -- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected for the rest of Friday and into the evening, in advance of the Labor Day holiday weekend, according to the National Weather Services.
For Friday afternoon, forecasters are calling for partly sunny skies with a high near 92 and heat index values approaching 99. The chance of rain is 50 percent during the afternoon, and 30 percent in the evening.
On Saturday scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected after noon. Otherwise, skies will be mostly sunny, with a high near 93 and heat index values as high as 100. The chance of rain is 40 percent.
Similar conditions are expected Sunday and Monday, which is Labor Day
