MANATEE -- A Bradenton woman stabbed her 66-year-old live-in mother with a kitchen knife early Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Lisa Sheffield, 47, lived in the 7700 block of 24th Avenue West with her mother and other roommates, according to a release. At 12:10 a.m. she armed herself with a 12-inch long kitchen knife and began to walk around the home.
Sheffield's mother came out of a room as Sheffield was coming by, and Sheffield stabbed her twice in the torso, according to deputies. Her mother began yelling and other roommates came to help, pulling Sheffield away and taking the knife from her.
In the process of taking the knife, one of the roommates was deeply cut on his hand, deputies said.
Sheffield was arrested and faces charges of aggravated domestic battery.
