Stephen King is the mystery writer who will be helping raise money for Manatee County's public library system.
King, the acclaimed author behind such classics as "The Stand," "It," and "Carrie" and many more, will be making an evening guest speaking appearance in a break from the annual Author Luncheon, a major fundraiser for the library, it was announced Tuesday.
The author, who has a home on Casey Key in Sarasota, will speak at 7 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Manatee Performing Arts Center, 502 3rd Ave. W., Bradenton.
