The death of Pamela Carter Doster, 45, is being investigated as “suspicious,” the release states.
About 10 p.m. Sunday, Pinellas County Aviation personnel located Pamela Doster on the Passage Key sandbar north of Anna Maria Island after her husband, Michael Doster, 50, called 911 and said she had “jumped off the boat,” and he couldn’t find her.Deputies reported both Dosters were drunk.
According to the wife, the couple had argued after she saw him having sex with another man. The argument turned physical on the jet ski, according to a sheriff’s office report.
“While attempting to return on a Sea-Doo jet ski, he reached around and grabbed her by her hair pulling her off the ski into the water,” the report states. “She again stated she got back on the jet ski four more times and he pulled her off four more time.”
The last time she was pulled off she hit her head against the side of the jet ski, went back to the sandbar and refused to answer as he called out to her, according to the sheriff’s office. Her husband said he was afraid she was in the water and he was not able to find her so he called 911.
When the aviation unit located her on the sandbar, a fire rescue boat picked her up and took her to the Rod and Reel Pier where deputies interviewed her.
She was nude other than her life vest and had a bump and bruise on left side of her temple, a bruise on her left bicep and a large swollen area on her left hip, according to deputies.
Michael Doster was arrested on a charge of domestic battery. He was released Tuesday after posting $5,000 bond.
Pamela Doster was taken to an area hospital, where she died Wednesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
