BRADENTON -- A man has been charged with aggravated battery after he tried to force himself on a pregnant victim in her home on Sunday night and then left his wallet, according to the Bradenton Police Department.
The pregnant woman said Elias Allende-Balladares was visiting her at her residence in the 2500 block of 21st Avenue West at 10:30 p.m. Sunday when he began to make unwanted physical advances, according to a report. The victim said she shouted at him to stop, but he kept trying to force himself on her.
Allende-Balladares then fled the residence, accidentally leaving his wallet, which contained identification, according to the report.
When police were talking with the victim, who was uninjured and declined medical attention, they received a report of an armed robbery at the BP Gas Station at 2801 26th St. W. Allende-Balladares, who had made the report that his wallet was stolen at the gas station, agreed to meet officers there, according to the report.
The victim was taken to the BP, where she positively identified Allende-Balladares, according to police.
Police said Allende-Balladares later changed his statement, saying he was robbed at the victim's residence.
Allende-Balladares was being held without bond at the Manatee County jail.
