All lanes of southbound Interstate 75 in Bradenton have been reopened after a Tuesday morning mishap covered the roadway with muck.
A large load of mud was spilled on 640 feet of the roadway after a dump truck driver failed to secure the truck's back gate, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
The mishap occurred around 9:16 a.m. just north of the interchange with University Parkway, according to the FHP website. All three southbound lanes of the interstate were shut down until 12:16 p.m. The roadway was cleared by a crew from DBI Services and washed down by East Manatee Fire Rescue.
There were no reports of injuries.

The truck's driver, Richard Ford, 52, of North Fort Myers, is charged with failure to secure a load, according to the highway patrol.
