Deputies used a stun gun to subdue a man after he damaged his girlfriend's car during an argument, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Eugene Tyrone Anderson, 35, was with his girlfriend visiting one of her relatives when they got into a fight Saturday night, according to a report.
Anderson became upset and kicked his girlfriend's vehicle on the rear driver's side door, causing damage, the report states.
The girlfriend left and called the sheriff's office. Several units responded to a home in the 3300 block of Fourth Street East around 7:45 p.m., where Anderson came to the front door, deputies said.
When he was told he was being charged with criminal mischief, Anderson allegedly resisted. He was warned that if he continued to resist, "the deputy would deploy his Electronic Control Device," the report states.
Anderson crossed his arms, deputies said, and the device was deployed. He was taken into custody without further incident.
He faces an additional charge of resisting without violence.
