Two children were found in "deplorable conditions" inside a Bradenton tattoo shop, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.
The sheriff's office was called to conduct a welfare check on the children, ages 2 and 7, at Empire Tattoo, 5024 14th St. W, around 11:35 a.m. Friday, according to a report.
Deputies found the children had been living inside the business with their father, who left a few minutes earlier.
Authorities found "numerous used syringes and other drug paraphernalia" on the floor and strewn about "within easy reach of the children," the report states.
Never miss a local story.
Rick Rowland, 39, an employee of the shop, was arrested and charged with child neglect. The children's father had left them in his care, deputies said.
