BRADENTON -- A 17-year-old boy who was hit while riding a skateboard Sunday has died, according to Bradenton police.
The boy, whose name has not been released, died at 2:26 p.m. at Blake Medical Center, police said.
About 9:32 p.m. Sunday, officers responded to the intersection of Manatee Avenue West and Palma Sola Boulevard.
Officers determined the skateboarded was traveling south through the intersection when he was truck by the driver of a vehicle traveling east on Manatee Avenue West, according to a news release.

Paramedics took the skateboarder to Blake Medical Center, "where he remains in critical and unresponsive condition," police said in the release.
"The driver of the vehicle later told investigators that he didn't see the victim until too late to stop," police said.
