MANATEE -- Deputies are searching for a man who exposed his genitals Wednesday morning to a teenage girl at a school bus stop in Palmetto, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect pulled up in front of the bus stop at the intersection of 28th Avenue East and Palmview Road at 8:22 a.m., stopped and exposed himself to a girl, according to a news release.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 40s, with a thin build, short curly brown hair and a scruffy or unshaven face. He was seen wearing a light-colored T-shirt and driving an older, silver, standard cab full-sized Dodge truck, possibly with a Florida tag, according to the report.
"She got a hold of her father and he called us," Manatee County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dave Bristow said.
Never miss a local story.
The girl had just gotten to the bus stop when the incident occurred and was alone at the time, he said.
Moments later, a few more students arrived at the bus stop.
"They didn't witness what he did," Bristow said. "Hopefully we will get some tips from the public."
The bus stop is for students attending Buffalo Creek Middle School in Parrish.
There have been no other similar incidents recently, according to Bristow.
