MANATEE -- A Bradenton family was robbed during a home invasion early Monday, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
About 2:15 a.m., a woman was returning with groceries to her apartment at The Palms of Cortez, 3810 Fifth St. E., when three gunmen ordered her and her son, who had gone outside to help carry the groceries, to get down, according to a news release.
"The son ran upstairs where he jumped out of the bedroom balcony. The mother and daughter were told to lay face down," the sheriff's office said in the report.
The suspects took the woman's purse and cash from her back pocket, then fled the scene, according to the sheriff's office.

The first suspect, who was wearing a grey hoodie, was described as standing between 5 feet, 10 inches and 6 feet tall. The second suspect stands about 5 feet, 7 inches to 6 feet tall and has a thin build. The third suspect, who had a shirt on his face, stands between 5 feet 7 inches and 6 feet tall, according to the sheriff's office.
