A man was killed after he experienced a "medical event" and crashed into a palm tree Friday morning along Interstate 75, the Florida Highway Patrol reports.
Nicholas P. Marsicano, 59, of Lutz, was headed northbound on I-75/State Road 93 around 4:20 a.m. at the time of the crash, according to an FHP report.
Marsicano was in the outside lane approaching the overpass of Border Road when he experienced "some type of medical event," the report states.
He lost control of his 2004 Chevy Venture and veered off the east shoulder of the roadway, striking a guard rail, investigators said.
