BRADENTON -- The season is over for the Tampa Bay Rays, but their generosity goes on.
The American League ballclub's Rays Baseball Foundation donated $2,500 to the Manatee County YMCA in support of the Manatee County Y Technological High School.
The YTech High School opened in 2012 helping at-risk teens complete their high school education and receive a diploma.
The school is operated by the Y at the 13th AV Dream Center, 922 24th St. E.
The donation will enable the YTech High School to provide technological equipment to more than 250 students.
The Rays Community Fund Grant Program provides assistance to Tampa Bay region nonprofits. Grants are awarded to help support and
enhance youth- and education-focused programs offered by community-based nonprofits.
So far the Community Grant Fund Program has awarded 150 grants to local charities totaling close to $775,000.
The Rays Baseball Foundation is committed to supporting youth and education programs. Key contributors to the Foundation include Ray's owners, players, sponsors, and fans.
Since 2008, the Foundation has invested more than $3 million in youth and education programs in the region through grants, programs and scholarships.
