The Sea Breeze Elementary fifth-grader is one of the youngest dancers ever chosen by the company for the lead role in the holiday ballet favorite.
Mattison will dance with Eddy Tovar, now in his 10th season with the Orlando Ballet and guest dancer of the Los Angeles Ballet.
Saturday’s show is 7 p.m.; Sunday’s, 2 p.m.

n Props to the fourth-graders in Vicki Capestany’s and Rebecca Rose’s classes at Rowlett Elementary, who created class quilts for SOLVE, a maternity home in Bradenton.
They read Patricia Polacco’s “The Keeping Quilt” with USF interns Megan Hunsader and Nicole Lerardi and talked about being thankful for family and friends.
Each student was given a fabric square to decorate as they chose and assembled to make two quilts for each class.
