Reclaimed water system still out of service

MANATEE — The Manatee County reclaimed water system for much of the western portion of the county will remain out of service until later this week.

According to a press release, the repairs to a clarifier were to be completed over the weekend but due to unforeseen problems the repairs will not be finished until today.

After the repairs are made it will take several days for calibration and standards tests to return the system to required levels of quality.

Customers may experience increased pressure sporadically toward the end of the week, but consistent normal pressure will most likely return by Monday, according to the press release.

Reclaimed water is treated wastewater that can be used for non-potable purposes, such as landscape irrigation.

For more information, visit the county Web site at www.mymantee.org.
