A Bradenton man charged with molesting one child has at least one other victim, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Thomas Perreira, 69, was arrested May 26 and charged with lewd and lascivious molestation. He was held at Manatee County jail on a $100,000 bond.
The victim was known to Perreirra, the sheriff’s office said. Detectives say Perreira began molesting the child in 2006 when the child was 6.
Since his arrest, detectives have identified one additional victim and believe there could be more. Charges related to the second victim have not yet been filed.
The initial allegations came to light May 15 when the now-16-year-old victim told her mother Perreirra touched her in a sexual manner when she was between the ages of 6 and 13. The abuse stopped when she no longer visited his home, the girl said.
On May 17, the girl detailed how Perreira touched her inappropriately on many occasions between March 2006 and 2013.
When questioned, Perreira denied the allegations.
Perreira was ordered by a judge not to have contact any with minors during his first appearance hearing last month.
