SARASOTA -- A Bradenton man was arrested for shooting a BB gun at three Venice businesses, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.

Mateo Urieta-Carbajal, 18, was arrested at 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of State Road 776 in Venice. Deputies were dispatched around 2:30 p.m. to Vacuum Pros and Kinetico Water System in the 1800 block of South Tamiami Trail after victims reported a suspect in a black sedan shooting a BB gun at their storefronts.
No injuries were reported, but deputies said glass was shattered.
Less than an hour later, Family Tae Kwon Do at 1758 S. Tamiami Trail in Venice was also victimized, according to the sheriff's office. A manager at the business told deputies she heard a loud noise and the front business window shattered.
Surveillance video captured a black Dodge Magnum fleeing the scene, according to the release.
Around the same time, detectives responded to Venice Regional Hospital where a bicyclist was being treated for a pellet gunshot to the leg. The victim's description of the suspect vehicle matched the other crimes.
Reports came in later around 5 p.m. of a BB gun being used to shoot birds in the 800 block of Acadia Road in Venice. When deputies arrived, they spotted a black Dodge Magnum parked in the driveway.
Deputies said Urieta-Carbajal admitted to shooting at the businesses. A 17-year-old in the vehicle admitted to shooting the bicyclist, according to the release.
Urieta-Carbajal was charged with three counts of shooting into an occupied dwelling. According to the sheriff's office website, he was held in Sarasota County jail on bonds totaling $7,500.
Deputies said the 17-year-old was charged with misdemeanor culpable negligence.
